I have started this not-for-profit organization entitled 'Dancers LOVE Dogs' for an annual show, involving dancers who love animals.
I commit to producing a show each year with ALL the proceeds going towards 'Mass Sterilization'. This is for the Cape Province initially, although it will be reaching Johannesburg and Durban soon thanks to trusted friends of mine in the Dance World.
Feel free to join, participate and/or contribute and be part of the Compassion.

The Story Behind the Photograph...
Herewith a tribute to our lovely friend and sponsor, Vanessa, who has donated the 'poster photograph' (as seen to the right) to us FOREVER, to be used as our nationwide logo...
It all started when I needed a photograph for our first show and, following a Google search, linked to VeryVivi.com - http://www.facebook.com/veryVIVI
I immediately found my perfect "poster" shot and mailed Vanessa accordingly. Several mails later, it was nothing less than a delight to realize I had made contact with a soul that shared my exact passions - Dance and Dogs.
Vivi is Vanessa's beautiful soul-mate and 'muse' and Vanessa was excited to share and sponsor her photograph for our Cape Town show. Now that we are going nationwide, Vanessa has given us her permission to use her photograph for all our Dancers LOVE Dogs events!
There is a endearing story behind the "Dance Toe Shoe" in the photograph. The pointe shoe belonged to the famous American Prima Ballerina Absoluta, Gelsey Kirkland. In the late 1970's, Vivi's mommy, Vanessa (also the photographer of Vivi's photos) performed with Miss Kirkland in American Ballet Theatre's production of La Sylphide at the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center, New York. After Gelsey's magical performance of La Sylphide, Vanessa knocked on Gelsey's dressing room door and was invited in to talk with the legendary ballerina. Before leaving, Vanessa asked Gelsey if she could keep the pair of pointe shoes Gelsey wore in the second act, from the performance, as a memory and special keepsake. Miss Kirkland, with tears in her eyes, very generously obliged! These magical ballerina slippers represent the joy of giving, and symbolize a special gift that keeps on giving.
Today, in 2012, Gelsey Kirkland is accomplishing so much for the Art of Dance with the recent foundation of her new Ballet Academy in New York city, now entering its second year. See www.gelseykirklandballet.org. Gelsey has also written a book - "Dancing on my Grave" - highly recommended reading.
