How PRECIOUS this is... Miles (the furson who is responsible for the birth of Dancers LOVE Dogs) and his mama, Coco, reading the article in the May edition of woman and home about Dancers LOVE Dogs!
A real Kodak moment!
Dancers Love Dogs
Artscape Opera House
May 25th - 8 PM
Booking through Computicket.
If ever we have needed you - it's now! The animals in Cape Town need you.
We have 1487 seats to fill and one seat sold = one sterilisation.
Every single person in this show is donating their time and talent so that we can raise this money to assist animals in need. We are beyond grateful to all of them. Computicket have also come on board and will only be billing us for the credit card charges. That is amazing!
100% of the funds raised each year go directly to the vets assisting in the sterilisation campaigns we organise through animal organizations in the needy areas.
This year's show promises to be a dynamic and spectacular event featuring CTCB, Bovim Ballet, Zip Zap, CJB, ikapa Dance Theatre, Waterfront Theatre School, Northern Dance Project, Rudi Smit, Jamm, Eon Dance Group, Jason Sisam, Martin Schonberg, Adele Blank, Mega Gymnastics Academy, our special guests "Dancing with Dogs in Cape Town", the irresistible "Lillyslappedsilly" , and much more.
Please share this magical event with all your friends and fellow animal/dance lovers and help us to reach our goal of having a sold-out show.
Read all about our foundation in the May issue of Woman and Home, Home Owner, Fairlady and Full Circle magazines. Our heartfelt thanks to all these wonderful magazines for the generous coverage.
Not-to-be-missed and for such a PAWsome cause - please open your hearts to the "furkids"!
Dancers LOVE Dogs is incredibly grateful to SA Home Owner for sponsoring a FULL PAGE advert in their May 2013 issue.
This kind of coverage is exactly what we need to get our name and cause out there and to market our shows which remain our main fundraiser.
THANK YOU again, Home Owner. So very PAWsome of you!
Just a little visual aperitif, thanks to our two-legged models Chanel Hurlin, Sam Willoughby and Lauren Hambly-Wise and their furry compatriots.
Soon we'll have an attractive and practical range of Dancers LOVE Dogs merchandise on offer to augment fundraising and put our name and cause out there through YOU, our respected and beloved supporters.
WATCH THIS SPACE!
Thanks to yet another Dancers LOVE Dogs Angel, Alice Mennen, there's another show in Cape Town next month which will raise funds for sterilising yet more fursons!
So many people are giving freely of their time to make this show the dance extravaganza it promises to be. Local and guest artists will be performing all genres of dance. There'll be cheese and wine. And LIVE music by the duo Kes and Nick.
Please support or spread the word!
Don't forget to buy May's issue of Woman & Home. We were donated a beautiful 2-page feature to increase awareness of Dancers Love Dogs!
We are so delighted and grateful. Thank you woman&home, Frith and Kate, and the wonderful team at the photo shoot! Bless your cotton socks, ALL of you.
Thanks to our legal brain, Leigh Meyer (our Durban collaborator as well), who generously gave of her time (entirely gratis, as usual) to do all the necessary (and laborious) paperwork for registering Dancers Love Dogs in terms of the non-profit organizations act, 1997 (Act 71 of 1997) we have finally received NPO status!
Dancers Love Dogs was entered into the register on : 10/04/2013.
This is wonderful news for us and really opens up our world and scope for fundraising!
Our NPO number is 117-329 NPO.
Thank you so much Leigh for making this happen! We WOOF you to bits!
Dancers LOVE Dogs is so blessed. Kelley is a true Dancers LOVE Dogs fan and supporter. She, together with her friends, raised R1600 for our foundation doing the Argus Cycle Tour!
Kelley, thank you so much... you are PAWsome!
These funds raised are going to help another 7 animals! You see, EVERYONE can help. No matter what your passion is, you CAN make a difference.
We received this email from Kelley:
It's only a pleasure. So glad I could help with my small contribution! With more time and more people on board I am hoping to raise a little more in races to come. Thanks for all the hard work that you and your team are doing - you guys are truly an inspiration.
Please let me know if I can help out at all with the pta/joburg shows, or any other fundraisers you may endeavour in.
Here's to raising and helping a lot more animals in the future!
Lots of love, Kell xxx
Pawesome Wacky Whiskers Rescue & Rehoming are still meowing and woofing in thanks to DLD for helping out with recent sterilisations in sunny Pretoria.
In the slideshow above you'll see the kitties that were sterilised on 14 March 2013 and those that were sterilised on 18 March 2013 at Montana Park Animal Clinic. Then you'll also see some dog!
These 5 oodle noodle doggies belongs to a lady who can not contribute towards their sterilisation. She is a divorced, single mom of two teenage daughters. Her ex-husband is unable to pay alimony (he lost his job). She is currently caring for twelve dogs and has fallen on very hard times
This lady agreed that PWWRR try to re-home some of her doodle doggies to make things a bit less stressful financially. She will let PWWRR know ASAP which of these honeys they’ll be able to re-home and Mads will then go to her property to take photographs.
Steri day booked again at Montana Park Animal Clinic for Thursday, 4th April 2013.
DLD gets regular and passionate feedback from PWWRR, with each email signed off with a cheer of some sort:
"You all rock and jive Animal Welfare! Thank you so incredibly much for all you do - you are animal angels ♥"
"Thank meow for all your help DLD -–you are a formidable animal team!!! ♥"
"Thank you so much DLD - you are stars and are making such a big difference for the animals!"
"We are all (the ones with 2- and 4- legs) twisting THANK YOU!!! ♥ DLD ♥♥"
Gosh... if the whole DLD team could blush right now, we'd be mistaken for the Red Planet! Honestly, as delighted as we are to be able to make this happen, we could not do this without the incredible and generous support of every one of YOU out there. So, thank you DLD's extended family - can you see what a difference you've made already?
Lots of Love & Happy (albeit belated) Easter regards from Dorette, Theo and Madeleine from PWWRR as well as Dancers Love Dogs.
